With your help, Art successfully broke into the Royal Lounge and discovered a literal treasure trove of evidence. She's mailed everything to you and asks for your help in finding the killer. At this point, it can only be either Lynn, Chester, or Cameron. But with the Green Knight continuing to threaten Art and the remaining suspects preparing to leave town, time is quickly running out.
Hints
Code
- Some documents contain clearly encrypted text. Which ones?
- Is there a place that could be used to help decrypt this encoded text?
- Is there a place in this episode that tells you how a new version of a familiar code works?
Killer Identity
- The final three suspects are Chester, Lynn, and Cameron. Are there any documents that could give any of them an alibi?
- The killer has been taking on the persona of the Green Knight to send Art threatening messages. Do any of the characters have links to the Green Knight costume?
- Hank's body was burned in the forge. Does any evidence point toward who may have used the forge?
Logging On
- Check Art's letter for the specific task she assigns you: identify who killed Hank. Go to michellegrayinvestigations.com and enter the password PORTER. Then, click on the RENFAIRE folder and enter the password FISHER to access this episode's digital evidence and communicate with Art.
Reveals
Code
- Cameron's letter or resignation contains encoded text.
- Since Cameron is the one who made the code, something else of his will help decrypt it.
- The letter to Lynn will help decode Cameron's encoded text.
- Cameron has used a book cipher before, but a standard book cipher clearly will not work on this code.
- The knight figure has the word "meter" on the bottom of it, a clue to the new version of Cameron's book cipher.
- The Good Fences posts explain how iambic pentameter works. Cameron's book cipher uses iambic pentameter syllables instead of letters.
-
Decoded, Cameron's message says:
- "The king is dead we have another chance
To be ourselves come with me and take my hand"
- "The king is dead we have another chance
Killer Identity
- The lawyer bill has timestamps for the day of the murder.
- The concert ticket is from the night of the murder. Using the stakeout notes and arrest record can help identify who "C" is and give them an alibi.
- Gladys in previous Good Fences posts has mentioned finding clothing that matches the Green Knight costume in the dumpster of her apartment. One of the suspects lives in the same complex.
- There is a burn scar in one of the tattoo photographs.
- Lynn's meeting with her lawyer was at the time of the murder, so she has an alibi. Chester is "C" and was at the concert on the night of the murder. Cameron lives in the same apartment complex where parts of the Green Knight costume were found, has a burn scar by his new tattoo, and left a coded message for Lynn asking her to be with him since Hank is now dead. Cameron is the killer.
- To solve the objective for this episode and complete this season's investigation, open the messaging client on the desktop and send Art a message with the name "Cameron". She'll respond with a finale video and an epilogue video, which will provide a resolution for this story.

Concert Ticket
Wild evening, C! And don't worry, we always got a hookup for you.
Epilogue Video
[We open on cell phone footage of a car that just parked.]
Danny (off-screen): They're here! They're here, everybody! They're here!
[The car door opens and Sam steps out as everyone cheers and calls her name. She rushes over to Art and they embrace.]
Sam: Come here! Come here! Oh, my god.
Art: Oh, my god, I'm so glad you're home.
Sam: Oh, it's good to see you, kid! It's good to see you. Thank you so much.
[They pull away from one another and exchange a heartfelt glance as Morgan approaches.]
Morgan: Hey... I just want to say... we're sorry... for everything... really.
Sam: I understand. It's okay.
[She looks to Art.]
Sam (to Art, emotional): We should be all thanking you. No, no, you kept us together. Even when I couldn't. Thank you, baby! Thank you, baby!
Danny: We have something for you, Artemis!
[Danny approaches with a bright crown and places it on Art's head.]
Art: Is that for me?
Vivian (laughing): Of course, it's for you! You saved the queendom!
Danny: Huzzah!
[The group claps and erupts into a chorus of "Huzzah"s as they all embrace in a group hug.]
[The video ends.]
Finale Video
[We open on a cell phone video taken inside the Renaissance faire. The person holding the phone is in a crowd of people, all dressed intermittently in Renaissance faire garb or street clothes. The camera is pointed up toward a stage, where Cameron is performing, brandishing a sword.]
Cameron: - to a summer's day?
Police Officer: Police!
[The camera turns to capture a police officer approaching the stage.]
Cameron (faltering): Thou art quite as... lovely and as temperate. The rough winds do shake the darling buds of -
[A second police officer approaches from the side of the stage. Cameron panics and throws the sword at the officers, then tries to make a run for it. The crowd starts clamoring and people rush up to the edge of the stage, filming on their phones.]
[A third officer catches Cameron as he tries to make a run for it and the two struggle onstage.]
Cameron: Let go of me, you fascists! Get your hands off me!
[The crowd erupts as the police officers put cuffs on him and Cameron continues to resist.]
[The video ends.]

Why can't you see it? Why can't you see he had to die?
The expanding of the faire, the subjugation of its workers - I saved us all from that! I saved us all from him. I made this place better, grander than it ever could have been under the old rule.
But if you are so fond of our old king, I would be happy to bring you to him.

Letter to Lynn
Page 1
Lynn,
I wrote this up as a farewell song. Meet me at Rebirth tonight to tell me what you think...
1 Though words may fail a knight can always count
Upon the very ground beneath his feet
He'll ride from dusk till dawn and then dismount
Awaiting for another chance to meet
5 He dreams of love, a kiss, a hand to hold
A wine most sweet decanted through he night
Her favor won just as it was foretold
And yet welcoming flames did not ignite
9 The gate stayed up, the wall remained unmoved
With swallowed pride he called for her again
Misguided was his faith in love once true
No answer came and nothing more was said
Page 2
13 Across the fields I watched this knight brought low
A righteous man broken upon the shore
I stole his tale for coin and worse for show
Slaking the thirst of crowds demanding more
17 And so I ask you all: what now, my friends?
Behind your walls will you ignite your light?
Is all we have ourselves when this all ends?
Are not we all a broken former knight?

Chester observation - 7/3.
- I hope this helps. Sorry it took me so long to come around. - Vivian
- 9:15 AM - Left house.
- 9:28 AM - Arrived at Coffee and Milk Cafe. Opened laptop. Working? Writing?
- A lot of phone calls between 9:45 and 1:25 PM. He seems frantic, pacing, lots of opening and closing his laptop, wandering around. My opinion, the last thing he needs is caffeine. At 1:25 PM he ran out in a hurry.
- 1:38 PM - Stopped at a red light and someone came up to his window. They talked, but I can't tell what they said. They shook hands. Someone honked at him to get moving when the light turned green, then he drove off. I don't know who the guy is.
- 2 PM - Got to his place in town.
- 6 PM - Still no significant activity.
- 6:34 PM - Car. A guy got out carrying plastic bag. Chester took the bag. Probably food delivery.
- 9:00 PM - Nothing happening. His light is on upstairs.
- 10:38 PM - Light goes out.
- 11:00 PM - Ending observation.
Solution
- To find Hank's killer, you must examine documents related to Chester, Lynn, and Cameron, the final three suspects. You can eliminate a character via timestamps on a document in this episode. The lawyer bill lists a series of meetings between Lynn and her lawyer with dates and times. The top of the document says that times are indicated in tenths of an hour. The day of the murder depicts a meeting at 11 PM that is billed for "2.0", meaning two hours. Since Lynn was at this meeting, she cannot be the murderer.
- Chester's arrest record sets a precedent of him getting in trouble for drug-related incidents, and the stakeout notes depict him buying drugs. The reference to C's "hookup" on the concert ticket can therefore be realized to be addressed to Chester, and not Cameron, putting him at the concert at the time of the murder.
- To solve the identity of the murderer, you must first look at the encoded text on the letter of resignation. To solve it, you must use a type of book cipher Cameron used in Episode 5 but linked to syllables instead of individual letters in the relevant text. By referring to the "meter" on the knight figure, you can check the other references to "meter" in the Good Fences posts, which explain how meter works. By decoding Cameron's meter book cipher, the message revealed is "The king is dead we have another chance/To be ourselves come with me and take my hand". The stakeout notes additionally reveal an argument between Cameron and Lynn, and an image of Cameron getting a tattoo, near which he has a burn scar. By referencing earlier Good Fences posts, it is revealed that pieces of the Green Knight costume were found outside Cameron's apartment complex by a local community member named Gladys.
- Cameron is the killer, who disposed of most of the costume at the scene of the crime, but the gauntlets of his own apartment. He later got a tattoo to cover up a burn scar received when disposing of Hank's body. He killed Hank because he was secretly having an affair with Lynn, and thought, with Hank out of the way, they could finally be together without having to keep their love a secret.
- To solve the objective for this episode and complete this season's investigation, open the messaging client on the desktop and send Art a message with the name "Cameron". She'll respond with a finale video and an epilogue video, which will provide a resolution for this story. Congratulations on solving the case, Detective!
