Previously on Starstruck...

Shannon decided to continue to follow her suspicions and look into the management team for the band. She recalled that there were a lot of rumors swirling around back in the band's heyday and decided those were the best places to start.

After discovering hidden terms to the band's contract and a secret relationship between Rachel and one of the boys, Shannon alluded to taking a risk to find out more.

Hints

Charity Bracelet

  • Pay attention to the writing on the inside of the bracelet.
  • Use another piece of evidence to help decipher the code.
  • Do any of the other pieces of evidence use numbers?
  • Are the numbers on the other piece of evidence assigned to anything in particular?
  • Try writing out the code with the images from the tattoo sheet instead of the numbers.

Fan Zine

  • Even though it's a fan publication, could some of the information be a little more accurate than they believe?

Handwritten Lyrics

  • When was this song written in relation to some of the other documents in the box?
  • Whose handwriting is this?
  • How does the date on this document relate to the dates in Jake's journal?

How to Finish Episode 3

  • Make sure the subject line is SECRETS when you message Shannon through the Contact shortcut.
  • Make sure to include both the password for the "Old Chat Logs" folder and who was in a relationship with Rachel.

Journal Pages

  • How did Jake feel about his time on tour, especially when it came to the other band members? What about the other people he works with?
  • Pay attention to the last journal entry. What is Jake worried about?

Napkin Contract

  • Who was the contract between?
  • When was the contract written?

Old Chat Logs

  • Who could "tatem0dern" be?
  • What are they asking Jake for?
  • Pay attention to the timestamps of the messages.

 

Locked Folder

  • Are there any secret codes in the box?
  • Solving the charity bracelet code will help open this folder.

Photobooth Photo

  • This piece of evidence relates to something from a previous episode.

Tabloid Report

  • Who could be the person who spoke to the tabloids?
  • Are their reports true or false?

Tattoo Sheet

  • This works with another piece of evidence in the box.
  • Pay attention to the numbers assigned to each tattoo.

Website/J4F Forum

  • Check the PI letter to find your login information for this season's website.
  • Go to just4funcase.com and use the password PORTER and your own email address as the username to log into the website.
  • The folder for the case is still JUST4FUN but use the password BACK2SKOOL.

Reveals

Charity Bracelet

  • Using the numbers and images on the tattoo sheet, the code on the bracelet translates to "risetostardom4".

Fan Zine

  • The napkin contract validates the Zine's rumor of a fifth member. By the time the band was put together, Dean was no longer a part of the project as a member.

Handwritten Lyrics

  • These are the lyrics for "Love and War", which was Jake's big single off his solo album. However, this is not Jake's handwriting.
  • Marcus has been described as a songwriter, so we can assume this is his handwriting.
  • This was the "secret song" Marcus and Gabe were working on. The song is about Gabe and Rachel's relationship.

Journal Pages

  • Jake was unhappy about his time on tour and felt that he was the only one taking things seriously.
  • Gabe and Marcus were working on a song.
  • Jake recalls his frustration working with Dean and Pete.
  • He spilled a secret to someone. Reading the scratched-out line reveals that the secret involves Rachel.

Napkin Contract

  • Dean signed on to be a member of an unnamed band (which later became Just4Fun) years before the band officially debuted.

Old Chat Logs

  • "tatem0dern" is Marcus Tate's screen name.
  • Marcus went to Jake for help with some undisclosed "health" issue, but Jake appears to have ignored him for a long period of time.

 

Locked Folder

  • The code from the charity bracelet (risetostardom4) is the password for the folder.

Photobooth Photo

  • Gabe was the band member in a relationship with Rachel.

Tabloid Report

  • Someone with insider knowledge told the tabloids that Jake was a nightmare and didn't pay his staff enough.
  • This person was close with the band or crew because they know about Jake's private trailer.

Solution

  • The subject line of your message should be SECRETS, and the body of the message needs to have both of the following words in it: "risetostardom4" and "Gabe".
