Coded Lock
- Using the correct digits from one of the bible verses mentioned in this episode will unlock the lock. The correct verse is significant to JWJ. Further, the digits of the correct code also unlock a secret message in JWJ's letter.
John William James Letter
- A hidden code exists within this letter using the three digits of the bible verse from the memorial card along with the LFoA letter. Find the correct three digits of chapter and verse, and identify which letters correspond in the bottom line of the LFoA letter. When you have identified the correct letters, highlight all of those letters in the JWJ correspondence. A sentence will reveal itself once those letters have been isolated.
Listening Friends of America Letter
- Jacob Nilson continues to supply LFoA letters. But this letter contains a series of letters and numbers at the bottom of the page. These letters and numbers will unlock a secret message in JWJ's letter.
Marybeth Anna James Memorial Card
- The card confirms JWJ's original home in Ohio, first alluded to in the "Ohio Farmer" from Episode 4. The card also features three bible verses, each with their corresponding chapter and verse. These digits prove important when applied to the coded lock.
Coded Lock
- The correct 3-digit combination of the lock is 413.
Jacob's Plastic Bag
- The plastic bag containing a printout of Valerie Madson's email and a child's card is from Jacob Nilson (initialed with "JN"). The standard LFoA kraft envelope was sealed, opened, and then taped shut - this indicates that Jacob included the plastic bag without JWJ's knowledge.
- Bonus - Emailing Valerie often triggers an auto-reply (save for spam filters) that sounds strangely familiar.
John William James Letter
- Using 4, 1, and 3, you will discover that the letters at the bottom of the LFoA letter are: A, D, E, H, I, K, L, R, T.
- When you highlight only these letters in the JWJ correspondence, the last section's first line will reveal: "I KILLED HEATHER".
Porcelain Pig
- The blue pig, a continuation of the pig theme, represents Heather. Her love of water and blue paper provides the symbolic connection. It is interesting to note that JWJ has killed two males (Madson and McGowan) but only honors this female victim with a trinket.
Second Letter from Heather
- Heather mentioned meeting JWJ at the "first ob[e]lisk". JWJ had already expressed his appreciation for obelisks in his letter from Episode 3. An obelisk, a tall pillar structure, can loosely related to Concord Point Lighthouse (see the postcard from Episode 5) that is positioned near the Susquehanna River (see the photocopied newspaper clippings from Episode 5).
