Faustus Print
- The play "The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus" can supply insight into the relationship between JWJ and McGowan.
- Further, JWJ suggests the "flesh" of the devil will reveal the guilty party. When using the Hunt a Killer magnifying glass, the letters of a name will appear.
- On the back of the print is written the Latin phrase "Non sequi sus. Sequitur. Canes ostendere veritas", which translates roughly to "Not to follow the swine, let him follow the dogs to show the truth." The swine, and much later the dog, will play roles in JWJ's story.
John William James Letter
- JWJ quotes a few lines from one of the Canterbury Tales. At the end of the section, he provides a line number (125) for further reading within that same tale.
Letter from Dr. William Richter to Dr. Samuel J. Hawkins
- The letter from Dr. Richter raises some flags concerning the McGowan case. Richter goes overboard with his explanation to Hawkins and presents circumstances about Lilian that are suspicious.
Listening Friends of America Letter
- The organization has a new Vice President and Head of Darlington Operations: Jacob Nilson. With Jacob "in charge", we know that JWJ is gaining more control. Jacob makes a comment concerning George Madson's disappearance.
"The Ohio Farmer" Page
- The page from "The Ohio Farmer" reveals some background information on JWJ. When coupled with the JWJ letter, Ohio may be a location to keep in mind.
Faustus Print
- In the Faustus print, there are letters hidden in the figure of the groveling demon, Mephistopheles, which spell out "Richter". So it appears that Richter is the Mephistopheles to McGowan's Faustus, suggesting JWJ is Lucifer in this arrangement.
